Note: I am submitting a Right to Know Request to the City Manager's Office for the documents that the City of Claremont submitted to the New Hampshire Department of Revenue Administration that was used to set Claremont's 2024 Property Tax Rate.  Perhaps the answer as to why $252,920 was added to the Amount to Be Raised by Property Taxes is somewhere in those documents.  I will also be addressing specific questions to the City Manager about this issue but he may not answer those questions.  If I find out the answers that I am seeking, (such as why the increase was made, who authorized the increase and what will the money be spent on), I will report those answers in a future article.
